Original Watercolor Floral Paintings by Abby Laurence

We have some beautiful original, one-of-a-kind watercolor paintings of flowers by artist Abby Laurence, over in our Etsy art shop.

We have pink roses, a pink and a blue iris, purple and mauve pansies, and pink cosmos flowers.

These botanical florals are hand painted on archival, acid-free art board and are hand signed by the artist.

The flowers float on 8 x 10 inch ivory backgrounds. These are original watercolor paintings, not a reproductions.

Abby Laurence has had a lifelong love of flowers and considers the garden to be the most infinitely beautiful and inspiring place to be.

She loves to capture the delicate color and exquisite detail found in flowers, or in the faces of kittens, another of her favorite subjects.

Abby’s flower paintings have been licensed for prints that have been published and distributed worldwide through a publishing house.

Her floral, cat, and kitten paintings have also been licensed to Candamar Designs, Janlynn, and JCA for needlework kits.

Art Nouveau-inspired Floral Print Sets by Elizabeth Ruffing

I’ve taken my Art Nouveau, William Morris-inspired floral prints and combined a few of them in print sets. You can find them in our Ruffing’s Etsy Shop. These are “Lavender-blue Iris on Green” and “Cream and Purple Iris on Green” were painted as a set of two.

“Yellow and White Iris on Blue” and “Valentine”, the above two iris prints, were created as a set.

“Tan and Purple Iris on Green” and “Lavender Iris on Green” were created as a set of two, These are also look nice with “Innocence”, white roses on green, below, as a set of three.

Pansies floral watercolor art paintng by artist Elizabeth Ruffing

I made up four floral giclée art prints from my watercolor paintings of pansies and iris flowers.

Each one is 3.5 by 5 inches image size on 6 x 8 inch fine art paper. I chose a standard size 6 by 8 inch paper size to expand framing options, as these will fit in either a standard 5 x 7 inch or a standard 6 x 8 inch size mat and frame set, with a white border showing.

Each giclée art print has a decorative floral border surrounding the central image. Above is “Pansies”.

OOAK, One-of-a-kind, Original Iris and Pansy Floral Art Quilts by Elizabeth Ruffing

This is a one-of-a-kind art quilt made from 100% cotton batik fabrics, framing an archival quality canvas print of one of my original watercolors called “Valentine”. The canvas print is of a pale pink, almost white, iris, set against an Art Nouveau wallpaper design of darker muted magenta leaves winding in a heart-shaped pattern against a lighter muted magenta background.

The print is framed by two complimentary shades of green batiks, which are then framed with a batik of muted mauves, purples, golds, greens, and blues. The outer edge is bound with a black batik with a subtle magenta and green pattern. The entire effect is really very beautiful, especially in person.

The quilt is machine quilted in a stippled pattern of meandering stitches that go well with the batik patterns. There are no raw edges. A sleeve is sewn into the back of the quilt and a wooden decorative rod with rounded ball ends slips inside. The wooden rod is sponge-painted with acrylic paint in colors that match the background batik.

The canvas print was made using archival-quality pigment-based Epson UltraChrome ink, and is varnished with Liquitex acrylic matte varnish for protection. A black ribbon is included for hanging. It would also look very nice framed.

The size of this piece is 11 1/2 by 13 1/12 inches.

This art quilt features a canvas print of my watercolor painting “Pansies”, with a decorative border around the image.

It has the same stippling stitching and a sleeve with matching hand-painted wooden rod and ribbon for hanging.

The edges are finished with a cotton batik binding.

This quilted wallhanging is approximately 11 x 12 1/2 inches.

Both quilts and their matching hanging rods were made entirely by me, and I’m very pleased with both of them.
