Clementine, Original One-of-a-kind Dollhouse-sized Black Kitten by Max Bailey

This is Clementine. She’s a little black kitten with amber eyes who lives in the country.

Clementine is wearing a sage-green pinafore with pale blue polka dots and gold edging. Her blouse is pale blue.

Clementine comes with a high-backed white wooden porch rocking chair. She sits in her chair on her porch every afternoon and waves to friends and neighbors who pass by.

Clementine is a one-of-a-kind work of art, and is meant for display only.

She was sculpted from paperclay in multiple stages, to allow for drying and detailing.

Clementine was painted under a magnifying light, with tiny brushes, one hair at a time.

She is signed and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Clementine and her chair are 1:12 scale. (One inch equals one foot.)

Clementine is 1 and 1/2 inches tall.

Cassandra, Original One-of-a-kind Dollhouse-sized Black-and-white Tuxedo Kitten by Max Bailey

Cassandra is a sensitive and thoughtful tuxedo kitten. She spends a great deal of her time reading poetry. She will read it to you, if you’d like to listen.

Cassandra is wearing a pale gold dress with a turquoise ruffle around the neck. Her book of poetry is propped up in her lap.

Cassandra comes with a high-backed wooden Victorian chair. The back and seat of the chair are upholstered in pale gold.

Printing prints, cards, and tags

I spent my day printing, trimming, signing, and bagging my art prints, and my mom’s. The ones above are mine. I still have more printing to do. I printed until I ran out of art paper and had to order some more. We ordered more of the same archival-quality heavyweight cotton rag art paper I was using. We get ours from inkjetart.com. I’ll have to wait for it to get here before I can resume my print-printing project.

I made up these Hug Me Slug cards to include with my toys, along with my business cards. I printed these greeting cards on card stock, with our website information on the back. I printed my business cards on Epson watercolor paper.

I trim everything I print by hand, with a pair of scissors, including my hang tags, which I then glue onto scrapbook paper and trim again.

We have rain on and off this week, which is a nice break from the record heat. These two found another use for our umbrella. They’ve made it into a boat. They must be planning on going sailing.

Custom slugs and some more sock toads

This is Buddy the Hug Me Slug. Buddy has a special mission. He was ordered by such a nice lady, to give comfort and cheer to her friend who is going through some difficult challenges right now. So that he would be full of extra love, I gave him two hearts, one on top of the other, purple for bravery, and red for love. Teal is her favorite color. I was so glad I had some teal fleece, when I was asked.

I tried to fill him with well wishes, and I hope his new friend will be all better soon. He went on his way this morning. I added a pretty card and gift bag so he would arrive in style.

This grass green slug went to welcome a new baby boy into the world,

and this purple slug went to welcome someone home.

I finished up more Hug Me Sock Toads, in shades of orange.

These three polka-dotted toads look like they are wearing white undies, so I’m told.

New toys will be posted in our Ruffing’s shop.

I got all those batik Hug Me Bugs and Hug Me Slugs I was working on last time I wrote, posted too.

I leave a path of fabric scraps and paper in my wake.

I often find these sticky-backed paper hearts stuck to the bottoms of my feet, and to the soles of my shoes. A friend said this is a photo showing “both heart and sole” 🙂
