“This
old house was in need of
something bright and cheerful like this window box full of pansies and
verbena. An antique curtain forms a backdrop behind these
flowers. I liked the
contrast between the old and the new. When painting this
painting, I imagined someone living here who could no
longer take on all the work of painting the house, but still managed to
plant
something pretty to look at from the window.”
