Max Bailey is an artist who has worked for many years in watercolor combined with pen and ink, and a great deal of charm. He loves to paint, and paints from the heart. His limited and open edition prints have been very popular. His licenses have most recently included needlework books for Leisure Arts. Max also enjoys working in acrylic paints and a variety of media to create one-of-a-kind folk art dolls. He sees the creation of a doll as a blank canvas, an exciting way in which to express himself. His dolls are truly one-of-a-kind original works of art, and are made from his own designs. They are constructed in varying combinations of fabric, papier mâché, and paper clay. Max does all his own sculpting.

Max’s wit and whimsy, and his careful attention to detail can be seen in all of his creations. There’s no denying his love for cats, dogs, bunnies, barnyard animals, and all of the world’s creatures. To Max, they are all innocents who delight in simple pleasures, and are pure of heart. Beneath their naïve expressions are intelligence, warmth, and humor. They were born yesterday, yet they have the wisdom of the ages. He presents them to you with the sincere hope that they will brighten your day and bring you a smile.
