Ziggy the Black-and-White Tuxedo Kitten Original One-of-a-kind Cat Art Doll by Elizabeth Ruffing

Ziggy is a handmade original, one-of-a-kind black-and-white tuxedo kitten art doll, hand painted and hand sculpted in paperclay by artist Elizabeth Ruffing.

It’s bedtime for Ziggy.

He’s wearing his yellow pajamas, and he’s supposed to be sound asleep. But his bright little eyes are wide open, and he’s ready for another adventure.

When Ziggy’s mother comes into the room, she sees only the white tip of his tail and one yellow foot sticking out from under the bed.

“What are you doing, Ziggy?” she asks, rolling her eyes.

“I’m taking my car for a ride through the tunnel,” answers Ziggy, in muffled tones.

When at last Ziggy has curled up in his bed, he is already making plans for the next day.

“I bet I could take my car for a ride under a waterfall,” he thinks, as he drifts off to sleep.

Ziggy is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern. He is made from 100% cotton fabric which is sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. I sculpted Ziggy’s face from paperclay, which I smoothed into his fabric head. His whiskers are made of painted cotton thread. They were threaded through the paperclay before it dried. No molds were used to create Ziggy.

Ziggy’s curly white-tipped tail supports him very well, so he can sit all by himself on a shelf or a table, or in a cabinet. His arms and legs are button-jointed with decorative metal buttons.

Ziggy’s pastel yellow onesie pajamas are painted on, as are his periwinkle blue collar, cuffs, and buttons. His kitty feet are needle sculpted to give definition to his little kitty toes. He is approximately 5 3/4 inches tall when sitting and about 8 1/4 inches long when stretched out.

Ziggy’s car is made of wood. I painted it pistachio green, with a purple interior. It’s about 3 1/2 inches long and about 1 3/4 inches wide.

Ziggy is signed and dated. Ziggy and his special car are sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation. They are meant for display only. He comes with a hang tag, a certificate of authenticity, and a copy of his story.

Emily, handmade original one-of-a-kind folk art doll by Elizabeth Ruffing

This is my one-of-a-kind original folk art doll, Emily, named after the famous poet Emily Dickinson.

Emily was inspired by the charming Izannah Walker dolls of the 1800’s.

I designed both her body pattern and her dress pattern myself, and then carefully sewed each in 100% cotton fabric.

Emily’s fingers are hand quilted and lightly wired to give them a gentle curl, and her arms bend slightly at the elbows.

Her arms bend at her shoulders, and her legs bend at her hips and knees. Emily’s bottom is weighted with Poly-Pellets so she can sit nicely. (Chair not included.)

I made Emily’s antique reproduction Jumeau face using papier mâché.

Her hand-sculpted ringlets on either side of her head are hand sculpted from paperclay.

Emily was painted with gesso, and then detailed with acrylic paint. Her blue eyes are hand painted.

Her shoes are painted on as well, with tiny buttons up their sides.

I made Emily’s dress from a tan calico quilter’s cotton. It is dotted with little burgundy and navy blue flowers.

Emily’s sash dips to a “V” shape in the front, and it holds in all the fabric gathers at her yoke. Her sash ties in the back to make a pretty bow.

I sewed two pin tucks at the bottom of her dress and added a big three inch hem to make the skirt stand out nicely. All the seams are carefully finished.

Her antique-style undergarments are carefully detailed with painted-on lace, pink buttons and a bow.

Emily is approximately 15 inches tall. She is sealed with matte varnish for protection.

Many hours went into making Emily. She is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Emily is meant for display only.

Emily is signed and dated. She comes with a hang tag, a certificate of authenticity, and a copy of her story.

Ginger and George, tabby cat handmade original art doll with gingham alligator, by Max Bailey

This is Ginger. Ginger is an orange and white tabby, and she’s a country cat. On summer nights, Ginger loves to sit on the porch in her wicker chair and listen to the crickets and the katydids.

On pleasant fall days, she loves to walk through the dried leaves and hear them crunch and crackle under her shoes.

Ginger loves gingham dresses, especially this one, with its ruffling ruffle and long sash that she ties in a pretty bow in the back.

She also loves George, her gingham alligator. When she takes George out for a walk, all the chickens go clucking and running to the other side of the barnyard. She thinks maybe that’s because they don’t like the clatter George’s wooden wheels make as they roll over the pebbles by the back door.

Ginger is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern. She is made from 100% cotton fabric which is sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. She is 13 inches tall.

I sculpted Ginger’s face from paperclay, which I smoothed into her fabric head. Her pearl cotton whiskers were threaded through the paperclay before it dried. I made her gingham dress from 100% cotton fabric, from my own design and pattern.

Ginger is very accommodating. Her curly white-tipped tail supports her very well, so she will sit very prettily all by herself on a shelf or a table, or in a cabinet. She will also happily sit in a chair, or stand with a doll stand. (Doll stand not included.) Her arms are button-jointed.

Ginger’s white on white polka dot bloomers are painted on, as are her striped tights, and the high-button scuffed up shoes that cover her kitty feet.

George is made of wood. I painted him with my best version of green and white gingham, and gave him droopy eyelids and sleepy yellow eyes. He’s about 7 inches long and about 2 inches wide.

Ginger is signed and dated, and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation. Ginger and George are original works of art and are meant for display only.

Leah the Star Baby, Original One-of-a-kind Art Doll by Elizabeth Ruffing

This is Leah. She is very new to the universe.

Leah is impatient to learn all she can about the solar system, other galaxies, all the planets, moons, other stars, and especially Earth.

Everything is new to her.

Leah especially enjoys comets and the occasional rockets she sees go by.

She always waves to them. Sometimes they wave back. Leah is always friendly.

She is a remarkably good-natured and happy baby.

Leah is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern.

She is signed and dated.

Leah is entirely handmade. Her body is made of 100% cotton, and painted with acrylic paint. Her bottom is weighted so she can sit nicely while she looks around, and she is also jointed at her shoulders and hips, in case she gets tired and needs to lie down to take a nap.

Leah is approximately 8 1/2 inches tall when seated, and approximately 11 inches long when lying down.

Leah also comes hang tag, a certificate of authenticity, and a copy of her story.
