This is Paige. She is a sweet white cat with yellow eyes, who owns and operates The Kitty Boutique, downtown on the corner of Main and Willow.

With care, artfulness, and excellent taste, Paige creates ensembles for each of her clients to suit their look, their style, and the occasion. The lady cats in town have never looked so stunning.

Paige’s own outfit is a one-piece beige dress with little green scallops at the neck, and large half-round scallops at the hemline. In between are delicate pink flowers with green leaves on graceful green stems. The string of pearls around her neck carries a gold locket.

Paige was hand sculpted from paperclay over wood, in multiple stages, to allow for drying and detailing. She was hand painted under a magnifying light, with tiny brushes, using acrylic paints. She is a work of art meant for display only, and not for play.

Regina is crazy about dolls, especially the ones that look like little girls.

The little girl Regina lives with gave her one of her smallest rag dolls, and Regina has come to adore her. Regina named her Ragsy. She loves to hug Ragsy’s soft body, and admires her pretty two-toned pink dress. It’s kind of like the two-toned dress she herself is wearing.

Regina fixes Ragsy’s yellow yarn hair in ponytails on the sides of her head. She pretends the ponytails are Ragsy’s ears. Surely Ragsy can hear and understand everything she says.

Ragsy’s tiny smile makes Regina feel so happy that she curls her toes under with joy.

Regina is sculpted from paperclay and painted with acrylic paints. Her dress is a soft shade of green, and over it she wears a light turquoise pinafore trimmed in a darker green. Her doll Ragsy has a lovely mauve dress and black Mary Jane shoes.

Jefferson is an original, one-of-kind tan bunny rabbit miniature art doll figurine, handmade, hand sculpted in paperclay, and hand painted by artist Elizabeth Ruffing.

Jefferson looks wide awake with his golden-brown eyes that have soft yellow rings toward their centers. He is tan with blue polka dots, and wears a red tie with tiny gold polka dots under his blue shirt collar.

Jefferson’s personal mission is to find the famous “bunny trail” from the Easter song…the one that Peter Cottontail comes “hoppin’ down.” He researched giant volumes in the library and combed the Internet for information.

Thinking he found a lead, Jefferson took a picnic lunch to his neighbor’s yard, so he could spend the entire day looking along a path that goes into the woods behind his house, but there was no sign of that “Bunny Trail.”

Weary of searching, Jefferson sat on a log, unpacked his brown paper bag, and ate his carrots and lettuce. Then he sighed, yawned, and vowed to set out on his quest again tomorrow.
