Mandalee is a handmade miniature original, one-of-a-kind cat art doll, hand painted and hand sculpted in paperclay by artist Max Bailey.
Mandalee is a lovely tabby Maine Coon cat with yellow and green eyes. Her real name was Amanda Lee, but everyone always put the two names together, and so it became Mandalee.
She is a country cat, and when she isn’t tending to her household chores, she loves to wander through the meadow. If she has any troubles, she leaves them all behind.
Mandalee stops to admire the colorful wildflowers. She enjoys the soft summer breezes. She makes sure to take the time to rest under the big oak tree at the end of the meadow, where she thinks peaceful thoughts.
Sometimes Mandalee takes along her little friend Skye (available separately), and they enjoy the lovely day together. Mandalee points out all the important things that Skye should notice, like the blue of the sky and the softness of the grass under their feet.
Mandalee always takes along her big straw hat to wear when the sun gets hot. It is decorated with a pretty rose, and has a mauve ribbon with white polka dots. She ties the ribbon under her white chin in a soft bow.
To keep her pale green dress absolutely clean, Mandalee wears a green smock that buttons down the front. It has a pattern of pink flowers and pale green leaves. She always has a pink handkerchief tucked in her pocket, in case she might need one.
Mandalee’s petticoats are white, and swirl around her striped feet.
Mandalee is 4 and 1/4 inches tall, including her ears.
If you are collecting my miniature dollhouse kittens, Mandalee is a nice companion for them. If you have a dollhouse and would like to people your dollhouse with kitties instead of people, on a 1 inch equals 1 foot scale, Mandalee would be the size of a small person.
Mandalee is a one-of-a-kind work of art, and is meant for display only. She was sculpted from paperclay in multiple stages, to allow for drying and detailing.
Mandalee was painted under a magnifying light, with tiny brushes, one hair at a time. She is signed and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
