Ginger and George, tabby cat handmade original art doll with gingham alligator, by Max Bailey

This is Ginger. Ginger is an orange and white tabby, and she’s a country cat. On summer nights, Ginger loves to sit on the porch in her wicker chair and listen to the crickets and the katydids.

On pleasant fall days, she loves to walk through the dried leaves and hear them crunch and crackle under her shoes.

Ginger loves gingham dresses, especially this one, with its ruffling ruffle and long sash that she ties in a pretty bow in the back.

She also loves George, her gingham alligator. When she takes George out for a walk, all the chickens go clucking and running to the other side of the barnyard. She thinks maybe that’s because they don’t like the clatter George’s wooden wheels make as they roll over the pebbles by the back door.

Ginger is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern. She is made from 100% cotton fabric which is sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. She is 13 inches tall.

I sculpted Ginger’s face from paperclay, which I smoothed into her fabric head. Her pearl cotton whiskers were threaded through the paperclay before it dried. I made her gingham dress from 100% cotton fabric, from my own design and pattern.

Ginger is very accommodating. Her curly white-tipped tail supports her very well, so she will sit very prettily all by herself on a shelf or a table, or in a cabinet. She will also happily sit in a chair, or stand with a doll stand. (Doll stand not included.) Her arms are button-jointed.

Ginger’s white on white polka dot bloomers are painted on, as are her striped tights, and the high-button scuffed up shoes that cover her kitty feet.

George is made of wood. I painted him with my best version of green and white gingham, and gave him droopy eyelids and sleepy yellow eyes. He’s about 7 inches long and about 2 inches wide.

Ginger is signed and dated, and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation. Ginger and George are original works of art and are meant for display only.

Leah the Star Baby, Original One-of-a-kind Art Doll by Elizabeth Ruffing

This is Leah. She is very new to the universe.

Leah is impatient to learn all she can about the solar system, other galaxies, all the planets, moons, other stars, and especially Earth.

Everything is new to her.

Leah especially enjoys comets and the occasional rockets she sees go by.

She always waves to them. Sometimes they wave back. Leah is always friendly.

She is a remarkably good-natured and happy baby.

Leah is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and pattern.

She is signed and dated.

Leah is entirely handmade. Her body is made of 100% cotton, and painted with acrylic paint. Her bottom is weighted so she can sit nicely while she looks around, and she is also jointed at her shoulders and hips, in case she gets tired and needs to lie down to take a nap.

Leah is approximately 8 1/2 inches tall when seated, and approximately 11 inches long when lying down.

Leah also comes hang tag, a certificate of authenticity, and a copy of her story.

Catarina and Harold, Original One-of-a-kind Maine Coon Cat and Giraffe Folk Art Dolls by Max Bailey

Catarina is a lovely silver tabby Maine Coon Cat.

You can tell she’s a Maine Coon cat by her large tufted ears, her big oval eyes, and her long whiskers.

Catarina, in spite of her name, has no idea she’s a cat.

She’s quite sure she’s a person, but just a bit more clever and a great deal more fashionable.

She loves her flowered dress with its lace shawl collar and cuffs. The rosette on the collar looks just right with her pretty nose.

Her favorite pull toy is Harold. He’s a purple giraffe. Catarina doesn’t know what a giraffe is, but she doesn’t think he’s a person, like herself.

When they take a walk, he rolls along behind her, unless they’re going down a hill.

Catarina is an original one-of-a-kind work of art, created from my own design and patterns. She is made from 100% cotton fabric which is sewn, stuffed, and completely hand painted with acrylic paints. She is 13 inches tall and meant for display only.

I sculpted the front of her face from paperclay, which I smoothed into the fabric. Her whiskers are made from stiffened pearl cotton, threaded through the clay before it dried. The tufts on her ears are stiffened cotton thread, sewn into the tip of each ear.

Her arms are button-jointed, so she can be easily posed, and her paws are needle-sculpted.

Catarina’s striped tail supports her very nicely, so that she can sit up all by herself. She can also sit on a chair, or stand with a doll stand. (Chair and doll stand not included.)

I made Catarina’s fashionable dress from cotton fabric that has a delicate pattern of dainty leaves and roses which are blue, orange, and purple.

The lace at the neckline and cuffs is real cotton lace, sewn on by hand.

She has painted white bloomers, and her kitty legs are covered with orange tights that match the roses in her dress. She wears cute little two-tone high button shoes in blue and ivory.

Harold the giraffe is made of wood, which I hand painted. He is 3 and 3/4 inches tall and his base is 2 inches long.

Catarina and Harold are signed and dated, and sealed with matte varnish for protection and preservation.

Sunny the Tuxedo Cat, Original One-of-a-kind Folk Art Doll by Max Bailey

This is Sunny the tuxedo cat, named for his happy disposition and his round yellow eyes. Sunny is a good-natured and obedient cat. He’ll always come when he’s called if he feels like it.

Sunny’s favorite toy is a painted wooden car. He got it for Christmas and hasn’t parted with it since. It has porthole windows in the front, and little passengers in the back. When Sunny grows up, he wants to be a fisherman, or maybe a taxicab driver.

Sunny is 13 inches tall. He’s wearing blue and white striped overalls with a big sun blanket-stitched onto the bib with orange embroidery thread. It matches the sun on the hood of his blue and orange car, which is 3 and 3/4 inches long.

He wears a bright yellow shirt with blue collar and cuffs, and white undershorts with blue polka dots. His socks have blue and orange checkered tops, and his little kitty feet are covered by brown lace-up boots. His arms are button-jointed. When he raises them you can see his black toes, and the white tufts of hair that curl around and in between them. His paws are needle sculpted.
